Conserving Lancaster's streams since 1950
We need help harvesting live stakes. They will be planted later in the week by a church group to enhance their streamside tree planting. Live stake harvesting uses pruners to cut 2-3 foot sections of branches from mature red osier dogwood, silky dogwood, buttonbush, elderberry, and willow plants. The cut branches are later planted directly into streambanks where they will grow into new plants. Email klk343@psu.edu if you are able to help.
